ABOUT THE EVENT

  • Facebook - Grey Circle
  • Instagram - Grey Circle

Join us for high tea at the Fairmont Vancouver Airport in Richmond to share our experiences with Down syndrome, celebrate friendships and feel inspired.

This is a mom only event. Moms with a prenatal diagnosis are welcome! We respectfully request that no children or babies attend the event as we want this to be an afternoon about putting you first and having some "me time". Spend time with friends, make new ones, find support, share your struggles and celebrate the great times.

The Fairmont Vancouver Airport tea service includes exclusively blended Fairmont teas, petit sandwiches, tasty pastries, house-made scones and fresh seasonal jams with clotted cream.

CYNTHIA HANRATTY

Mom to two and wife to one, Cynthia and her family started their T21 journey a decade ago with the birth of their daughter, Quinn. Feeling lost and a seeking a connection to others who would understand, Cynthia founded the British Columbia Parents of Individuals with Down Syndrome Facebook group in 2014. Her hope was to connect the Down syndrome community, allowing parents the opportunity to support each other no matter where they live in the province. Cynthia believes navigating the intricacies of having a child with a Down syndrome diagnosis can be overwhelming, but it can also be empowering. Since its establishment, the Facebook group has grown to over 500 members and continues to grow.
